Post subject:  Breitling top time ref 2000 crown winder

Hi guys, I've recently acquired a vintage Breitling top time ref 2000 watch, however the winder and the little metal sleeve are missing.

Basically I'm wondering if anyone has a suitable winder available or is there a substitute that will fit as I believe an original Breitling one might be rare and hard to source.

Mine is the round button version from the 60s I believe and it's the removable back version,

Any advice is Greatly appreciated as I just wanna get the bloody thing working and on my wrist lol

They’re called “crowns”, not winders. You can probably find one on eBay - you need a diameter of about 5.7mm or so. You’ll also need a “stem” which is the rod that connects it to the movement. Most Breitling crowns are tap size 11, which refers to the size of the threaded hole in the crown . Best to find a crown and then confirm what tap size needed. They can normally can be bought new. The “little metal sleeve” is a case tube - most watchmakers can get or have these but again will need to be matched to your crown.

This is the only one I current see on eBay that’s suitable. It’s not technically correct match but no one would be the wiser.

Many Thanks for taking the time to reply and the info, I can now search for a replacement and get the watch sorted.
