My 1 yr. old Chronomat AB0111, Ltd Ed. has issues. I want to first state that this was NOS, emphasis on "old". Data shows this model was about 2010. It came with full factory warranty activated, so I am OK there. I wonder if all those years of no use might be causing the following issue.

When I switch watches for a few hours, to keep this one away from rough use, I put it back on and it has died. After initial startup of non use, I always wind 40 plus "half turns". Today I finally did a test, as per recommendation of a related thread on this sub forum. I wound it 40 turns (actually 80 half turns this time). Sitting flat on desk, and it died in 10 hours. I did it again, but with 130 plus "half turns" (I am guessing "half turn" as the rounded crown is really tough to get a purchase on.). Dead after 12 hours flat on desk.

Is there any point in me doing any further testing, or should I just send it off to Breitling? Thanks much.

Time to send it off to Breitling! Breitling recommends a full service every 5-7 years so if this was not serviced before it was sold to you then it is overdue!

I think I will have to send it in. Because this was a brand new watch and never left dealer's shelf and warranty never activated until I bought it 1 year ago, I assume that the service not required yet....it had never been used....but perhaps that caused the problem, the sitting static for so many years. Thanks.
