Hi all.

I’ve been absent for quite some time. Nothing to do with you lot (!), more a break from forums, social media and indeed watches. In any case, I’m back and looking for some help.

Recently purchased a couple of Emergency 1’s - decided I want all dial variants and currently managed to acquire a black and yellow dial. The latter I would like some help with.

It’s a E56121.1 with an early serial and sales date from 1997 and has good service records etc. but, the text ‘Emergency’ is shorter than the text ‘Breitling’ and despite all my research, I can’t find another like this. On all others, the text Emergency is longer than the text Breitling.

I've registered the watch at BUK with no flags and will send for a service in any case. All functions work as they should.

Was this dial produced, or have I bought a franken?

Thanks in advance.

In '97 Chronolog "Emergency" is slightly longer than "Breitling" and bezel is newer type.
Can't reach my older catalogs at the moment, but I found one like yours... https://www.brereton.ie/watches-c12/bre ... -1999-p709
It's probably older, just sold in '99.

Thanks.

I really couldn't find another, which is why I asked the question.

I have edited my post to show the sale date as 1997, as it may have been produced earlier of course.

Nothing about the watch seems to be 'wrong', just that niggle I had to explore.
