It's been a long time since I saw Duraglit (never seen it here in Canada), but isn't it fairly abrasive?

Yes, its fairly abrasive. For my fishing-lures i go from "steel-wool" (is it called that?), to Duraglit. It takes away all scratches and they get very shiny.

Wouldn't use it if it's fairly abrasive.

Fishing lures are one thing. Please don't touch your Ling with anything that abrasive!

Only use them when you need to. Otherwise a quick wash with a mild soap and water, followed by a thorough rinse in fresh water, dry, and then a polish with a nanofibre or just a soft coth should be more than adequate on a regular basis.

With a Navitimer World, I was under the impression you should avoid getting any water on it at all.

Is washing with a damp cloth ok?

Thanks PZ

Navi's aren't TOTALLY non-water resistant, but I certainly wouldn't recommend submerging one. A damp cloth should be absolutely fine. Just as a side point, the tighter the bezel is on a Navi the better the WR is, so if yours is very loose I'd go even more careful.
