Post subject: | Crown on Steelfish |
I have a new 2009 Steelfish. I am a recreational scuba diver and plan on using my Steelfish when I dive. My question is: How tight should I screw down the crown to ensure water does not enter the watch? As tight as possible? Finger tight? Looking forward to any advice. |

You never want to tighten the crap out of an O-ring because you will compromise it. It's like the O-ring on your scuba tank valve. You never tighten it too much, but not loose enough to not work either ![]() |

Yeah finger tight is fine. As Mario said, if you overdo it you will potentially compromise the WR and may also damage the thread. The Steelfish has a pretty long thread when compared to something like a Bentley and that is to help ensure the WR. It is also equiped with 2 gaskets, so finger tight is fine. If you're straining to tighten it, you have gone way too far! ![]() |
