Post subject:  Speed 6.75 release tool?

Hello,

I have a Speed 6.75 A44362 with wheel back plate.

Can anyone suggest which tool I require to release this? I have no intentions of doing anything else, I just wish to let it air as I woke up to the smallest spec of condensation under the glass.

My nearest AD is over an hour drive and I can’t get out of work commitments for a while now, so thought I could at least try and let the moisture release?

Many thanks.

If you really want to open it yourself, try using a rubber ball. It works in most cases and you can be sure not to damage the back.

Be careful when screwing the back in. Put it horizontally, adjust the rubber gasket, rotate a bit clockwise for screw to adjust and then rotate clockwise with fingers and tighten with ball.

Disclaimer: I'm not a watchmaker and not an expert on watch opening and have never opened one of my expensive watches, I leave that to my watch maker. But if I had no option, I would use the rubber ball.

+1 for the rubber ball approach.

However, if you have condensation under the crystal, that means you have moisture in there and airing it out won't solve the reason why the moisture is in there in the first place. Condensation is a sign the watch isn't airtight, and TBH, there is a chance of making the issue worse by replacing a used gasket when you put the caseback on. If I was you I'd get it looked at and pressure tested by a watchmaker.
