Why would you buy it without papers?

That said, if returning it isn't an option, you can try calling Breitling USA to try to get some documentation. I really don't know if they will help, but if they can't no one can.

Will they help? It was purchased from a grey market dealer and I believe it's correct for Authentic Watches to sell them without the papers as they provide the warranty themselves don't they?

Not ideal, but I appreciate the cost savings over a non discounting genuine authorised dealer.

Personally given that I have one recent failed Breitling behind me and my SA going back to BUK at the moment I would prefer to have the genuine Breitling warranty, or have I just contradicted myself there...........................

The warranty is indeed from Authentic Watches - Breitling won't touch it under warranty. That said, Breitling will still service / repair the watch as long as it has a serial number, but BUSA will not help you with a watch that was not originally sold through a US AD. The likelihood of AuthenticWatches sourcing it from a US AD is extremely low.
