Post subject:  Theft and policy?

I heard from someone that if Breitling receives a Breitling watch which has been tagged as stolen, they send it right away back to the previous owner. Now thats a nice policy of them, but....

What if my previous owner of my watch give the watch as stolen and i want to service it? Then it goes right back to the previous owner while i bought it with papers and box. So he has the money and eventually his watch back. Isn't that strange?

So, who can tell me what is true about this?

IF a serial number is reported to Breitling as being stolen then they definitely add it to their database so they can identify it if it is ever sent for servicing. However, I believe they investigate the situation before simply returning it - just make sure that you keep a record of the transaction and you'll be fine.
