For sport, yes but better not for tennis and golf because of impact. Take some Quartz watch for these two sports. |

![]() Stef Sounds like this is from personal experience! Nasty ![]() Difficult to say 100% quartz - the likes of the B-1 & I guess the Aerospace too can become un syncronised if they get a shock. That is - the analogue and digital displays get out of whack and need to be reset. I would say probably not a Navi but surely some of the robust looking watches will survive a bit of tennis & golf. I know this has been discussed before but can't remember if anything was agreed. |

I've just said this in another thread, but I don't wear a watch when I'm playing sport or if I'm down the gym. Two reason mainly - firstly I hate all the sweatiness under the case and bracelet. And secondly I've damaged cheaper watches in the past - catching them on the wall playing squash, falling over and scuffing them on the cement playing tennis, etc - so the idea of risking several thousands of pounds unnecessarily seems a little pointless. Most gyms and squash courts always have clocks anyway, so I'm more than happy not to wear a watch for a couple of hours if needs be. |

I've been wearing all my autos when jogging, working around the house, in the desert, hot bath, extremely diverse climate conditions...etc - except when I am playing tennis. I think the impact, especially prolonged impact, could be really hard on the movement... |

There's a company called Jaermann & Stubi who make automatic watches specifically designed for golfing (they actually have features to track strokes, handicap, etc). They did a lot of research on the forces in a golf swing to make sure their watches were up to the challenge and they discovered that a full power swing with a driver generated around 100G. Don't think I would want my watches subjected to that too often! |
