Good afternoon
I am new to the forum so hello to everyone.
I have a Breitling crosswind special with a B44 movement. I recently purchased this watch second hand and noticed that the date jumps two days at a time. This happens when it is advanced by means of moving the minute hand around the dial twice to get the date to change or on it's own when it changes from one day to another overnight. It also does this when setting the date with the crown in position 1. I know not to adjust the date between 8pm and 3am due to the date change mechanism being engaged and have never done this on any watch. I tried winding the hands backwards 4 days worth and the problem disappeared after that but a few days on it has reappeared but only when the minute hand is used to change the date but not now when using the date change with the crown in position 1.
Has anyone else experienced this before and any thoughts as to how this could happen in the first place? All thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Andy
