Hi All, I am new to the forum but happy to be a part of the community and hoping for some assistance with an issue I have with my Breitling SuperOcean II 44.

I bought this new a few years ago and a little over a year ago, I had it polished by an AD in my area. However, the AD polished the blue rubber bezel on it when they should not have. When I got it back initially, I saw that the rubber bezel had a bit of gloss to the bezel that it did not have before. I did not realize at the time, that the bezel should not have been polished.

A little over a year has passed, and I have noticed that the bezel is a bit shinier so I decided to talk to other watch repair placs in my area. I learned that the issue I am experiencing was caused by polishing the bezel when it should not have. Notably, I have never worn this watch in this water (I am not a fishermen or a diver) and the watch does little more than be worn on my wrist as I work 8-10 hours in an office each day. I have never sought to clean it on my own either.

I have been asking around for an authentic blue rubber bezel to replace my existing one, as I want to avoid sending it to Breitling and being overcharged for it. Do any of you have any advice on where I can have this work completed and/or where I can find authentic Breitling bezels on the internet? I live in the Southeastern United States.

Thanks a lot for any information you can provide.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for how to get an authentic Breitling replacement part like this without having to send it to Breitling for service? Thanks.

Breitling do not supply parts to third party traders or watchmakers so your only likely sources are auction sites or Chrono24 where parts do come up for sale but I guess you’ll have a long wait. Your best option is to live with it until it needs a service and to have the bezel done at the same time. Breitling service prices are steep but allowing third party repairers to meddle with your watch will devalue it and potentially cost more in the long run.
