Can anyone tell me what the RED triangle between the Naut. and Stat. triangles on the Airwolf bezel is used for? It is not discussed in the manual and I can not seem to find any information regarding it anywhere.

Thanks,

Dan

It's the hours to seconds conversion.

The red triangle is at 36 on the inner scale which you align with 10 on the outer scale.

There are (60x60) 3,600 seconds in an hour so read off the hours on the outer scale and you'll have the seconds. eg 20 (2 hours) = 72 (7,200 seconds). As with all slide rule calculations, you have to move the decimal point in your head .

The question I have is why would anyone want to convert hours to seconds? I guess there must be reasons but I don't know of any.

You would need to ask Driver8 that one - he's the current champeeeen when it comes to minutes in a year etc!

Well, I feel I must relinquish my crown to someone more worthy given my recent "calculation error" concerning the number of hours in 2 days!
