Post subject:  New Crystal for Breitling for Bentley Mark VI P26362

I'm just about to collect a pre-owned Breitling for Bentley Mark VI (P26362), but I'm told there are a couple of very minor marks on the crystal.

They may be something I can live with, but chances are I'll want to replace the crystal.

Breitling will no doubt do this for me, but experience suggests that they will insist on a full service at the same time, which I don't think I'll need (and won't be cheap!).

I have found a seller in the US who may have the correct replacement sapphire (Gary, at nostalgia-2000), but I'd like to confirm the correct Breitling reference number for the crystal as he's not sure which crystal is correct for my watch. My watchmaker is quite capable of fitting the replacement for me if I manage to source one.

Would any of you (super helpful) types have the correct Breitling Reference Code for the crystal I need? Or failing that, the exact measurements of said crystal?

Thanks as always,

Mike 8)

Hi Mike,

Maybe unrelated here but marks on the sapphire crystal aren't usually just the AR coating showing some damage? Threads around the forum suggest just removing said AR coating until the next servicing.

Let me know in any case!

Hi Math,

The watch arrived today - it's from @ 2007, and there are some very minor marks on the AR as you might expect, but also a very tiny chip to the edge of the sapphire. It might be something I can live with, but it would be nice to have the option.

Breitling will happily replace the crystal (£90), but will also insist on a service (which will be an additional £280 minimum)....

So the correct reference/code would be useful!

Cheers,

Mike
