Hey guys, long time no see.

So I have the Blackbird I bought here a few years ago.

I love this watch but probably 2 or so years ago I think my daughter dropped it and it stopped working. I can wind it and nothing happens. It's been in the box in my closet since then.

Two questions, what kind of cost do you guys think I'm looking at to get it repaired and, if that's just too expensive, what do you think the value is if I wanted to sell it in the condition it's in.

Thanks

It's really hard to say what it will cost for the repair. It depends on what parts will be needed for the repair and whether it will need a complete overhaul or basic service. If the watch is more than a few years old it is likely going to need a complete overhaul. The basic service is 180 USD on a chronograph and the complete overhaul is $660. Return shipping runs $30, so with parts cost, it's hard to say what your total will be. It's definitely worth fixing. I don't know exactly what your Blackbird is worth used but it has to be at least a few thousand bucks. You can start here:
https://www.breitling.com/en/service/obtain/create/ . Once you mail the watch to them they will generate an estimate and you can approve or decline whatever interventions you want.

Good luck with your repair.

Thanks, I really need to get this thing fixed. I was thinking of trading it but I forgot how much I liked this watch. I guess if the right watch came up I would but there's not too many I like better.
