Hiya.
For my new Seawolf in July.
Initially it ran 2 seconds fast.
Then was spot on.
Then went 2 seconds slow.
Now seems to be about 1.5 seconds fast!
Is this normal and will these fluctuations continue?
Many thanks.

Yes and yes.

If you are going to track a mechanical watch to that degree you are simply going to frustrate yourself. Rate is affected by heat, humidity, position, degree of power reserve and a million other factors. All the time it is within COSC specs of -4 / +6 per day you are fine.

Entirely as Roff says. (Assuming that what you're quoting is per day...) Good mechanical timekeeping that.

yup... that's the "beauty" of mechanical watches!
if you buy one of those, you're obviously more interested in craftsmanship than accuracy (as i am...) so don't worry and enjoy! ;-)

cheers,

When I got my new Navitimer a year ago, it was 5 seconds a day fast. after about two months it was 15 seconds a day slow. Let it go for three months and then 5 seconds a day slow. Now that I have had it for a year, it is typically 10 seconds a week slow and steady. Give it some time (pun??)

Now that it is not so fascinating, I am checking it on the first day of month and resetting calendar if needed and I am finding it is less than 30 seconds a month slow
