Post subject:  Fall Back an hour change help

It's been a year since I have worn my watch and recently got it back from being serviced. I actually dread changing the time for fear of ruining my watch. My manual was lost years ago.

What is the procedure of changing the time and date. Also how does the danger zone of 8PM-3AM come into play? Do I have to stay out of these hours when first changing the date?

Also how much winding should I do after setting the time?

Also never turn hands back with dial always clockwise?

We really should add a search function to this forum........

Do not set time backwards or date between 8pm and 3am.

Set the date to the date before then wind time forwards until the time is correct (that way ensuring you get noon and night correct). A full wind is 40 turns and you cannot over wind an automatic watch. For a watch that is already running that just needs to go back an hour (which is what your title implies), just wind back an hour outside the danger zone.

Thank you for your help.

Just to clarify, my watch as the time shows its safe for me to just simply go not only clockwise but counter clockwise as well? Basically I can adjust it now and turn it back one hour?

For some reason I was always under the impression the hands could never go counter clockwise just clockwise

Don't wind time backwards between 8pm and 3am. Given that your watch shows 2:00 and we have no way of knowing am or pm you shouldn't wind it backwards.
