Post subject:  Questions about dial and hands

Hi guys,

I am in need of some advice. My chronomat GT has suffered from water damage to the dial and there for I need to replace the dial.

I have sourced a different dial then the GT from eBay. However, my current hands on the GT dial will not match nicely with the new dial.

However, I saw a handset in gold that will match the new dial. The only possible problem is that the handset I saw is for reference B13352 and my GT is B13050.1

Does anybody know if these 2 use the same size hands for dial and subdial?

Thanks a lot!

Dennis

Sorry I can't help with your questions, but I think you'll find that 99.9% of people here would send a water-damaged watch straight back to Breitling for repair and not even entertain anything of a DIY nature. Afterall, a Bentley GT is not a £20 Lorus we're talking about here.

It's worth remembering that if the dial is water damaged, there is also a very high chance that the movement will be too - maybe not badly, but any moisture at all in the case is likely to lead to corrosion which will cause movement issues in the longer-term (and at the very least a higher bill at servicing time).

My advice would be to bite the bullet and get it fixed by Breitling using the correct parts and working in the correct environment.
