My Avenger is finally in need of a new battery, so I made enquiries at my local Breitling dealer.
I was expecting them to say that they would send it off, but instead they said it could be done by the Breitling approved watchmaker in store (though not while I wait due to working hours, needing to order seals etc).
Price would be £135 (more than the Breitling website price for the battery service).
I'm in 2 minds at the moment.
Getting it done by BUK or at the shop will mean a Breitling warranty (on the battery and waterproofing); at the shop will mean me being without the watch for a far shorter time I suspect.
Or - as I have no intention of taking it in the sea - I could do it myself with a Renata battery and save about £133, acknowledging that I might take a small hit should I decide to sell the watch at some point.
What say the experts? Worth taking to the shop/BUK or DIY?
