Post subject:  Breitling Aerospace movement

I have recently taken in 2 Breitling aerospace sin for movement changes. One has an ETA 310.351 and the other has an ETA 310.391.
Am I right in assuming that the replacement movement for these is the ETA 988.332?
The 988.333 has smaller digital figures.
I do understand that Breitling would put a newer deeper movement in and change the case back.
Also, has anyone got a link to where I might purchase these replacement movements.
Thanks
Peter

I'm not an expert on quartz by any stretch of the imagination, but the early Aerospace models (1985 - 2000) were running the B56 or B65 movements which were both based on the ETA 998.332 (as far as I'm aware), so that's what you'll need.

In terms of where to pick up a replacement movement, then you won't be able to get hold of a genuine B56 or B65 as Breitling won't supply those to members of the public. However you may be able to find a replacement ETA 998.332 out there.... assuming it's still in production of course (which I'm guessing it probably isn't given the age). As I say I'm not a quartz expert.

The only place I know that MAY be able to supply ETA movements is Otto Frei (http://www.ofrei.com), but TBH I've only seen mechanical movements available from them.

An alternative (and much more viable option IMO) would be to find a cheaper donor watch that uses the same movement and cannibalise it. Again, I'm not sure which watches use the ETA 998.332, but I'm sure one of the guys who knows quartz a lot better than I do will chime in soon.
