Dears - I purchased a used Airwolf 1.5 years ago from a Wien-based watch shop (non-AD), with a 2 yrs guarantee. This winter, when wearing my watch in the cold I noticed that the seconds hand (big hand that ticks each second, yes? ![]() This situation used to happen rarely, when wearing the watch in the cold. As soon as I go to normal temperature the seconds hand would start again. Also the hand would move properly when I enter the Synchronisation mode (so no obvious "mechanical" blockage). Now it started happening very often and, as winter is long time gone, it happens at normal temperatures too. At first I thought the battery might be dead, but no EOL indicator comes on. I am going to ship the watch back to Austria to be fixed. I am wondering if this problem is not known between Airwolf/quartz owners and perhaps has a solution so that I know what to ask to the watch shop. Thank you! |

It sounds like a simple lack of lubrication in the running train resulting in excess friction. It's an indicator of the need for a service, but if you bought from a non AD I wouldn't be using their warranty - that's going to result in the use of non authorised parts and a potentially expensive repair bill down the road. Buying from non authorised sources should be treated as buying without warranty. |

Thanks Roffensian! Clear and to the point. I am not sure if I am to ask for a service or for a complete overhaul (considering the non-AD provenience of the watch, I would be inclined for the overhaul). Would they give me a certificate for any of those operations? Would they require me to send the watch overseas or they can perform the operations in my own country (Romania)? Cristi |

No idea what the Romanian service structure is like, but any service will come with a 12 month warranty. |
