Hi the luminous tab that acts as the nine has come off ,I took it into the dealers where I got it from who are sending it back to breitling, its a month out of its 2 year warranty will I get charged for it fixing? Ate breitling fair when it comes to things like this? Or am I expecting a big bill?

Welcome to BreitlingSource. This is an interesting one, lume dots shouldn't 'fall off' the dial so you could argue a manufacturing defect, especially if there is no evidence of the watch being subjected to a large shock. However, the watch is out of warranty so technically any costs are on you. The watch is going to need a service and the solution to the problem with likely be a replacement dial so the costs could add up. If I were you I would have a chat with your AD and see if they will have a word with the service centre to at least reduce the costs.

Hi an update, nearly three months down the line, still haven't got my watch back from breitling, having left the watch at Berry's in Leeds, who I wont be using ever again, it was checked over by a assistant in the shop who noticed a couple of tiny scratches nothing major just usual wear and tear, it was logged on the invoice and sent to breitling. I waited a few weeks but heard nothing from either Berry's or breitling then I got a call from Berry's who informed me of the damage and price it was going to be,£300 approx. As there was damage to the crown! There was no damage to the crown when I left it at Berry's, so I emailed breitling direct who informed me it must have had a big knock for the amount of damage that was on the crown, I asked for pics of the damage to be emailed to me. When imgor the pics the crown was smashed and the B on the end of the crown had rides up and was coming off, I informed Berry's of the damage and they were going to speak to breitling about the damage and ring me back,a week later still no phone call from Berry's so I rang them, spoke to another assistant how told me she had also checked the watch and confirmed she had seen the small scratches, and she was going to investigate it and ring me back,2 days later still no phone call from Berry's so I rang them again I asked to speak to the manager, I was told he was on his lunch and would ring back, imexplained i'd been told that before and no one had rung me he told me the manager would definitely ring after his lunch, guess what he didn't ring so I rang the day after to speak to someone higher.I got through to the operations manager who listened to my ordeal with his staff and he would investigate the matter and could I send him the pics of the damage, I thought at last I might get somewhere, he txt me, not even a phone call, to inform me he was agreeing with the decision of his staff and I would have to pay the £300 I'll stick the pics up on this thread to show the extent of the damage its quiet amazing how two people checked the watch before sending it to breitling and neither of them acknowledge the damage was there when they inspected it, so from me leaving the watch with Berry's and breitling receiving it the crown had been damaged but neither are accepting responsibility.

So in short I'm stuck without a watch because between them they can't decide whos responsible for the damage.

Sorry for the long rant and no doubt they'll be spelling mistakes as I haven't got me glasses on, lol but 'm p*ssed off big time, any advice from anyone on here of my next step?

Wow, on the face of it that's a pretty bad experience. Certainly i feel for you and can imagine how frustrated you are. It seems like your relationship with Berrys is now completely broken down.

Others with far more experience than me will chime in with advice but my first hunch is to go upstream. From your message it's hard to know if you've spoken directly with Breitling UK yet?? If not, I'd definitely go to them. Give them a written, detailed account (with dates and names) of your ordeal. In the nicest, firmest way possible i'd explain your deep disappointment with your treatment thus far.

If you have no joy with them i'd get in touch with Breitling SA (Switzerland). I can imagine that some pressure from above being placed on the AD and Breitling UK will have more effect than you're able to have.

After taking advice from here I emailed the MD of breitling uk and to the regional manager of Berry's (again) I finally got somewhere, Gavin Murphy the MD got in touch straight away asking for details of what had gone on, he did some investigating himself and he wasn't very happy with how Berry's had treated me, so the outcome is we pay 50/50 for everything the full service, including cleaning and oiling of escarpment and balance wheel, checking functional parameters of movement and watch functions, cleaning of case and bracelet, replacement of all gaskets, water resistance, new crown and new dial.

I'm happy with the outcome I didn't get into this to scam anyone 3 people including myself didn't se any damage to the crown so that's still a puzzler for me, but if Berry's had been fair and honest with me from the outset this would have been done and dusted months ago.

Ps anyone wanton to buy a newly serviced super ocean??? Only joking.

Finally picked up my serviced/repaired super ocean 5months later!!!!!!!

What a joke Berry's in Leeds told me the watch would be ready today the 18th September I gave them a ring yesterday to see if it was in store, "yes it's here ready to be picked up" I went to collect it and the receipt says the watch was in Berrys on the 8th,no call from them to tell me it was here after all the messing about I've been pit through by them I didn't even get an apology when I collected it.

I'm that p.ssed off with the treatment from breitling and Berry's I'm going to part ex it for a Rolex(once I convince the wife)

Ady
