Post subject: | please help identify lost watch |
Hi guys l was hoping one of you wonderful breitling experts might be able to help me get some final details of a watch that was previously owned by my father, but was sadly lost some years ago. My sister and l were hoping to replace it for his birthday soon and get it as close the original as possible. From the receipt that we have found we know it was a chronomat bought around 2001, and have deciphered from Sharkmouths number reference guide that it had a steel case and bezel, however dial color and dial style reference numbers differ from that on the guide, and neither my sister, mum or myself can seem to remember except that it was dark in color. The number on the receipt is A13352-415444. Any help on cracking the rest of this code would be very much appreciated by all here. Many thanks, Alex. |

Welcome to BreitlingSource. It is an early 2000s Chronomat in steel - http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... at_72.html, the 415444 will be the serial number. If you contact Breitling in your country, either directly or via an AD and explain the situation, they should be able to tell you specifically which dial it was. However, please note that this watch has been discontinued for some time so you may need to be a little flexible on just how close you can get. |

thanks wessa, lm sure it was one of the bottom two with silver sub dials, but as to whether it was blue or black? That seems to be the elusive question. lm waiting to hear back from breitling but without any clues from the reference number l am not expecting a definite answer. Very close now though so thank you for your help. |

The serial number will allow Breitling to provide a definitive answer, the only question is whether they are prepared to - they aren't always helpful. |

On the other hand you could play the game a bit further now that you are practically down to two options. Take it up with your father but do it in a bit of a subtle way. Something along the lines of: merphski - Dad, I'm looking at getting myself a decent watch for a change. I'm having a bit of a hard time deciding between this Invicta and a Breitling Chronomat. I remember you did once have a Breitling watch. What was it like? Dad - Yes, I did have this very nice Chronomat, loved it to bits but some wan!er stole it and I've been missing it since ![]() merphski - Wow! You had a Chronomat? That's exactly what I'm looking at getting, a Chronomat! I'm just undecided about the dial colour, I'm a bit in between the black and the blue dial. All the guys on Breitlingsourse, this superb, fantastic, brilliant, friendly, etc... Breitling watch forum site ![]() Dad - No, it was the one with a black dial and silver sub-dials but if I was getting one now, I do agree with you, I'd definitely go for the blue dial one. Problem solved ![]() |
