Put on my Navitimer this morning ( I rotate watches daily, so it was Navi day) and noticed that date was one day off but the time was dead on and when I went to correct the date by winding forward 24 hours I determine the time was accurate from the standpoint of being AM not PM. So my question is this, does the movement in this watch reduce energy to non-essential functions, IE date or chrono, as the main spring winds down ? Or was this a bizarre coincidence that the time was dead-nuts-on and the mainspring run down when I noticed the date was off ? If not coincidental, and in some way the mainspring energy is directed toward time keeping first and everything else second how does the movement regulate that ?

No 'power routing' capability. It's possible that there was insufficient torque to move the date, or it could have slipped for a number of different reasons, including a damaged date wheel. Keep an eye on it and if it happens again get it looked at.

Will watch for a recurrence of the issue though winding the watch and resetting the date seems to have set everything right for now. As I hadn't worn the watch a couple of days it possible it died yesterday but odd to say the least about the time I checked it this morning. I did not think to look at the small second dial to see if it was running at the time.
I leave it on winder when it's not being worn and have set said winder to CW and 950 RPD as it does not have a setting for 800 . My research indicated that CW and 800 is the proper setting for the Navi 01. Am I correct on that setting ?

800 tpd is correct, actually winds in either direction.

I'm getting the feeling the winder is part of the problem as it won't keep my Tag wound either. Time to upgrade the winder a few notches I guess.
