I just noticed an interesting flaw on my Bentley Lemans. The date wheel seems to have slipped so that when you normally would expect the date (ie the "19" for today) it shows half of "19" and half of "20". Of course I haven't been setting the date in the danger zone, and there haven't been any major or minor hits/impact to the watch. The date changes perfectly, still exactly at midnight, and it changes a full "day" every time. It's just that the numbers aren't aligned with the date window on the dial. I started trying to wind the date through a full month or two just to see if there would be any difference on when the date changed, or if I would feel that it occasionally missed/slipped in the mechanism, but no, everything is normal - except it's out of sync. I've also let it run over a couple of days in normal manners to see if this would change anything - still same result. Now it's sent to Breitling for a checkup and it'll be interesting to hear what they say. Even more so because Breitling service prices has sky-rocketed in Sweden and are now the most expensive brand to service in Sweden, according to the AD. Well, that doesn't mean it's true - the AD didn't impress me very much as he thought the Lemans was a fake (simply because he hadn't seen any earlier) and wouldn't sent it in for a checkup without me showing the original papers... ![]() Have you experienced something similar, on either a Lemans or a different model? |

Date discs sir in a trough so theoretically possible for it to slide round, though can't say I've ever heard of it. With other potential issues apparently ruled out not sure what else to suspect. |

My better half's Oceane slips the date now always between 7 & 8 - considering it's a Quartz and no date set danger zone (not that she's changed it before 8am anyhow) I don't know why hers has gone awry. Watch is 1 month out of warranty and Breitling won't consider a goodwill fix, nor will they agree to fix it if sent in on a full overhaul. Breitling really do take the P sometimes, particularly in the UK/Europe |

Update: Just received a call from the AD. Service center advices a full overhaul, and no explanation/theory on why the date wheel has slipped. Price for the full overhaul in Sweden is $ 530 - to be honest, I had expected more... Both when it comes to substance of explanation, but also on the price. Well, you win some, you lose some. |
