Post subject: | Winder Problem |
I have a winder that winds my Breitling Navitimer 850 revolutions per day in the clockwise direction. It does not wind the watch at all. When the watch winds down I can flick it with my wrist and it runs for a minute or so. If I slowly rotate the watch clockwise ( or counter clockwise ) it does not wind at all. It seems to take some momentum to get the winding weight to make full revolutions. Is this normal ??? I have three months left in my warranty and wonder if I have a winding problem. The winder I bought keeps the watch at about 45 degrees...... I tried it at 90 degrees and that has no effect when the watch is stopped.... I'd appreciate any ideas ? |

That is strange. I would make a trip to the AD and get it looked at under warranty. That many clockwise turns per day, would keep that watch fully wound. |

I have seen all three of my watches operate with the back off. None of them is a navitimer, but i can tell you that if you turn them slowly in the winding direction gravity keeps the rotor at the bottom and winds them. I use a winder for all three set to 650 turns per day, and within 24 hours, i can unplug it and they all take more than 36 hours to wind down. The winder holds the watches at about 45 deg. I think something's up with your watch. may need service/lubrication of the movement. I'm guessing that your watch winds in either direction similar to my B2 which does not require any "momentum" to wind. |

Yep, sounds like you need to visit your AD. I have a Navitimer and I don't have a problem to wind it in my winder. I wind the watch random directions for 30 min every 3hrs. |
