I purchased a used Superocean Chronograph a week ago. So far everything has been functioning great, but I wanted to see how I can find out when this watch was originally sold as "new" and if it is still under warranty. I also would like to find out if/when it may be due for routine maintenance. I have been told that the dealer that originally sold this watch is OC Tanner Jeweler in Salt Lake City, UT.

Any advice from seasoned Breitling enthusiasts is greatly appreciated.

Thanks --

You'll need to ask BUSA when it was first sold if you don't have the receipt / warranty card. Servicing is every 5 - 7 years but the watch may have been a year or two old when sold so don't assume that date. Case manufacture date can be found by following the instructions here which will help with dating - http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_dating.shtml

Thank you. I checked my watch and it says W0209. So it looks like it was manufactured in January 2009. I will also reach out to BUSA and see what they say.

I appreciate your help.

With the watch appearing to be 6 years old, it probably needs to be serviced. If this turns out to be the case, what can I expect in terms of cost to get it serviced from Breitling? I'm not looking for an exact amount, but a general price range based upon the experiences of those on this forum would be very helpful.

Also, is the best place to get the watch serviced directly with Breitling, or are there reputable 3rd party service companies out there that can perform this work?

Check the Breitling website for approved service centres, there are a few in the US. Site also has a PDF with current service costs.
