Hi,

I recently have gotten a Crosswind Breitling watch as a present from my dad (it was the first expensive watch he ever bought).
I don't know the exact model type, but it looks like this:

Now I've been using it for a few weeks now, but I have a few questions.

- On Breitling.com I could not find a user manual for this old(er) model, does anybody know where I can find one?
- The watch sometimes makes sound when I move my arm around (is just just the watch winding up?)
Follow up: I don't keep my watch around my wrist at night, and I notice that this might be the reason that it gets behind in time after a few days?

How do do I make the watch smaller? (I'm talking about changing the lock size, not taking out a piece of the bracelet)

Thank you so much.

It's a standard calibre 13 movement so any of the modern calibre 13 model manuals will be the same - Avenger, Super Avenger etc.

The noise that you are hearing is the Valjoux calibre rotor spinning and is perfectly normal - google "valjoux wobble" for more than you could ever want to know.

If the watch is running slow then it may simply need a service, if it is losing a significant amount of time then it may be stopping at night in which case an occasional wind will help maintain the power reserve.

In terms of the size, I assume by "lock" you mean the clasp, if so there is a micro adjustment in the clasp that can be adjusted by moving the spring bar to another hole. If it is already at the tightest then you need to remove a link and then adjust the spring bar accordingly.

The watch is a regular Crosswind. Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Thank you for your reply!

- How do I wind this watch? (sorry if dumb question) Or is winding the same as setting the time and date?
- I can't seem to move the clasp but it isn't at the tightest hole yet, I don't want to force it so I guess I'll go to to jeweller.

Winding the watch is done in the first position of the crown - unscrew it and then wind clockwise for 40 turns or so for a full wind. Also, avoid setting time and date between 8pm and 3am or you may damage the watch - search "danger zone" here.

You have to remove the spring bar to adjust the clasp, as you can reach the ends through the holes in the clasp side anything that will push in through that hole will work.

Thank you for your quick reply!

I have one last question..
The seconds hand never stops running for me (even after I press the bottom push piece), is this normal?

The manual will really help you!

If you want to stop the chronograph with the central seconds hand then you need to press the top pusher first. The bottom pusher is the reset and will not work unless the chronograph is stopped. The subdial seconds hand is for the running seconds and will always be running.
