| Post subject: | Service, or no service? |
Purchased my SO in 2007 from an A.D. It has kept perfect time and have never had any problems with it, "knock on wood." That being said, should I send it in for service or a tune up, or should I ask the AD to do it, or just leave it alone and not do anything? Very conflicted and definitely would apptreciate suggestions. Thanks and love this site. Drew |

If you brought it to the AD they would send it in. I don't think AD's do any tune ups or anything. I've had mine about the same time and not going to bring it in unless there is a problem. If it ain't broken....... I'm sure there are some on here that would say do whatever the company says, but for between 500 and 1000 I will wait for now. |

The oils in your watch age at a predictable and linear rate. After 7 years they are no longer capable of providing effective lubrication, that's simply reality. Whether you decide to run a watch with no lubrication until it starts showing symptoms is up to you, but I know what I would be doing. |
