Post subject:  Battery replacement through AD on the spot or send into BUSA

Hi All,

My B1 finally is giving me the EOL notice.

I called a local AD to ask if they would/could send the B1 into BUSA on my behalf. The AD told me, to my surprise, that they are able to swap the battery right there and then in the shop.

Now I wonder if I should go with the on-the-spot battery service or send into BUSA to ensure that BUSA services the watch overall (inclusive of pressure testing, etc.).

Also, I would like to mention that I still have a non-SQ B1 (the first B1 model). Would BUSA replace the old non-SQ with a SQ and if so, how much would that cost me?

Thank you for any advice :)

General rule of thumb is that it needs a service every second battery change, but if the watch is in the 5 - 7 year old window then I would get the service as well.

In terms of upgrading to SQ, it will depend on whether the non SQ modules are still available (I doubt it) and whether your current module needs replacing yet. Cost would have to come from BUSA.

Thank you very much!

I will send into BUSA for full service. The watch is over a decade old and I have no idea what the previous owner did in terms of service.
