Post subject:  Servicing in Brisbane

Hello, newbie here: this is my first post. I've been reading through some interesting threads here (and one hilarious rant about a Navi).

I've searched these boards for this topic already but can't find any, so apologies if I've missed a recent one (mods, please move this post if you think appropriate).

I'm trying to find a service centre for my Colt Ocean in Brisbane. Watches of Switzerland used to be Breitling's designated drop-off point, but they've since gone to Tag.

At this stage I don't need a service, simply a battery change. However, I'd like a servicer whom I can use later down the track. I'm also not overly keen on spending a huge amount with a marquee repairer when I know that there are more than likely tried-and-tested watchmakers with years of great experience with Lings, whose expensive rent I don't need to pay for.

Any recommendations would be appreciated from people who've personally used a repairer. While I'm here, are there any recommendations on a battery brand?

Many thanks

Hardy Brothers Jewellers at 255 Queen st in Brisbane are Breitling AD.
You can drop it off there and they will ship it for you to Breitling Service centre in Sydney.
They may even change the battery for you if that is all that is needed.

Thanks Wessa. I've heard good & bad about Hardys' servicing, but hoping a battery change should be within their grasp.

I don't believe Hardys are an authorised service centre although they may offer to change the battery for you.
If you are concerned about it, ask them to ship the watch to Breitling Service Centre in Sydney (DKSH Australia) and let them do it.
DKSH will most likely insist on full service though which will cost at least a couple of hundred bucks.
The watch will however come back working and looking like new (checked, adjusted and all metal parts refinished, including bracelet if you have one with the watch) and with a 12 months international warranty.
Ultimately, your call mate.

Brisbane Vintage Watches will do it for you. They have a service centre in the city.
