Post subject:  Chronomat 41 LE Chrono pusher problems

So i have been very happy with my Chronomat 41 LE that i bought pre-owned from a great listing on BS at the end of December. Full box an papers and have posted pics on here before. The screw down seal for the top pusher for the chronograph is now "free spinning". I'm guessing it shouldn't turn more than 15-20 times. It will neither lock down to the case or open to use the chronograph. Pusher was working fine when i received the piece. I am in the US and warranty booklet stamped from Andrew Micheal's UK. I am guessing that i need to send it in for service as the threading must be off now. Is this something that should be covered under warranty? Original purchase date is Dec. 2012 so there is plenty of warranty time left. My AD (that i had service my 1980 rolex date) wasn't happy with me since i bought pre-owned and not new from him, didn't want to take the time to size it for me before Christmas and instead sat in his car. Should i contact BUSA directly instead?

Thanks for the help!

It would be quicker to call BUSA yourself. The issue with the pusher screw will be covered under warranty, and the guy that didn't want to help you size your bracelet is unprofessional IMO.

Well the screw down pusher may be covered under warranty, depending on what Breitling determine the cause to be they may try and say that it's a user created problem - it's happened before with things like water ingress.

Certainly no reason to go through an AD that doesn't want to help you, BUSA frequently accept pieces directly from customers.

I know the watch has not been submerged since I received it. I try not to splash water on it when I wash my hands so I don't get waterspots on it! I hope this is covered under the warranty but there are two mixed opinions from 2 reliable sources!

Has anyone else had this problem and was it covered for you?

I'm not suggesting that this is a water problem, I'm comparing your problem with other problems that Breitling have said was user caused. My guess is that they will cover it for you because it's hard to prove how the damage occurred, just be aware that there is the potential for it not to be covered.

Thanks Roff. I'll have to call BUSA and find out what they have to say. They will have no problem with the AMJ UK stamp on the warranty book will they?

I haven't dealt with BUSA directly. But I have had dealings with Horological Services near Philly. I sent in an SA for an overhaul, their communication is great and the woman who answers all of the emails is really great to deal with. She is very pleasant and very helpful. You might want to see what they have to say they are an authorized service center for the East Coast.

I sent my Navitimer World in directly to BUSA. They were very friendly and let me know what the status of my watch was every time I called. The watch had water damage, and it was still covered under warranty. You shouldn't have any problems. When you go to the service section of the Breitling website, the info for BUSA is there. When you call them they will give you instructions as to how to send the watch in.

Nope, warranty is global.

So when i got home today i decided to give it one more shot before calling BUSA. After another 15 or so turns to unscrew the ring it starts moving back and stops in the correct full open position and i can properly work the chronograph. After a few short runs of the chronograph i go to screw it back down. The reset pusher ring locks down after 6-8 turns but the top ring keeps spinning after 15 turns. There must be something wrong with the seal or stop inside the case. Time to call BUSA

I called BUSA and I will send my watch in on Monday and wait to hear from them about what needs to be done.
