I have a new Skyland Avenger (well it's now 8 weeks old) and the time etc was set by the AD.

Now, a few days laer I changed the time and set it 5 minutes faster. This has been an old habit of mine for the past 30 years.........

Anyway, to test my watch accuracy, I have just moved it back 5 minutes and set it to the correct time as per the Breitling website. However, without thinking I did this at 11.00pm.

I read in the manual that you should not move the watch time backwards or date between 8.00pm - 3.00am.

Have I just stuffed up or harmed my watch??!!

You can change the time whenever you like.

The problem is with the quick set date mechanism. The gears for that are partially engaged with the gears for the time during approximately 10pm and 2 am (8pm - 3am gives a safety margin) and using the quick set then can strip the gears.

Changing the time is just advancing or retarding the movement in the same way that it moves anyway - no problem.

:yeahthat but I wouldn't use the Breitling website to set the time. Atomic Clock ;)

The Breitling website doesn't have a clock.

It has a piece of code that displays the time on the PC that's accessing it.

I noticed that the clock on the site is different. You are right that it mirrors my PC time.

However, I noticed that when you bring up a watch, the time on the face of a watch is in fact atomic time set to your region.
Maybe I'm wrong but it was actually running approx 20 seconds difference to my PC time.
Once I installed the atomic clock onto my PC, it then ran perfectly inline with atomic clock so obviously Breitling has built this into their website.........pretty cool in that case........... :lol:

I'd never noticed that, but I guess it makes sense.
