Post subject:  AS - Problem!

Hi, just finished cleaning my watch tonight at 10.20pm!

While checking I noticed the date said the 1st so automatically without bloody thinking I wound it on to the 2nd only realising when it stopped half way and wouldn't turn any further what time it was!

I did wind it on very gently so I don't think I would have damaged the mechanics but it is now reading between the 1st and the 2nd. I've left it like that so I will check it in the morning ans see if it has moved. I hope so, if not I'll jump off a cliff!

Do you think I have damaged it or will it be okay!

:( :( :(

Done that before, if you wound it very gently, you should be okay. If you wind backwards on the crown after doing that it usually jumps back to the original date i find and that's what I do when i've done that. It should move in the morning... here's hoping! :(

Panic over!

Thanks BreitlingSource for your reply. Just checked this morning and indeed it has moved to 2. In the back of my mind I thought it would but I had a bit of a panic.

She's all good now.

Cheers

Andrew

When that happens again, just pull the crown all the way and move the hands forward til the date jumps, and than go backwards again to the right time. Don't quickset the date at all, only move the hands, and next day fix the date if you have to.
