Post subject:  How to proceed when watch runs out of power

Hello everyone!

So, I moved to a city where I don't feel comfortable wearing my Breitling everyday. As a result, when I decide to wear it, it is usually out of power. If the watch is stopped, is it ok to just strap it on and let my arm movement power it up, or should I wind it before wearing it?

Thanks in advance,

Best,

Peter

Wind it up first. You can't over wind a watch so you can't damage it.

To be precise you can't overwind an automatic watch. You can overwind a manual.

Hey guys!

First and foremost, thank you for your prompt responses! I will make sure to wind them from now on. Is it possible that I caused any serious damage to the watch by not having wound it?

Thank you once again,

Best,

Peter

Not even 'unserious' damage  The only problem with not winding it first is that the watch may periodically stop and / or be inaccurate until your movement builds up the power reserve, easiest to just wind it first and then put it on.
