I own a black dial Crosswind and recently had it serviced. Breitling replaced the crystal and I've noticed the inner dial looks different now. To me it looks discolored.

When I'm in the natural sunlight it looks gray instead of black. When I'm indoors it sometimes looks black and sometimes looks gray. It all depends on the angle of the light.

I took it to a local authorized repair center and they told me the dial is not discolored but looks gray because of the blue tint from the new crystal.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Yes, AR coating can change the look of the dial and subs at different angles.

:yeahthat The AR can make dials look different at different angles. My black dial SA can look dark grey in certain lights.

Thanks for the responses.

I also noticed that the inner bezel color is gray while the face remains black at certain angles (mainly in the natural light). Is that consistent with what you guys have seen?

During my service estimate, Breitling did note that my watch had “dial discoloration” but did not offer to change either dial. I guess this planted the seed in my mind that one of the 2 dials was discolored.

Yes, it is. I've seen it only in the natural light.
