Guys, I'm looking for any orientation on costs of repair and maintenance.
I own a Chrono Colt & Ocean which I bought in 1996, from the Breitling dealer in Curitiba, Brazil, where I live. Since that, I sent this watch to technical assistance several times in order to make regular overhaul, to replace battery or to fix small damages caused by the long time of use. I never have had troubles with that, thus, a few days ago, I sent it again to them for ordinary maintenance. They came back to me talking on change the clock face (I have no clue about why) and both, hour and minute, hands. Ok, I'm still seeing no problem. But actually I find a bit excessive to charge me 1,300 US dollars for that. I never paid as much as this before. What about your oppinion? Everything is right or I'm being assaulted? Do you believe this price could be take as a fair price? I already tried a direct contact with Breitling customer assistance in order to check this service price and I couldn't get success. The Breitling site have no link to send an email to them or any information on specific phone number to customer support.

That price sounds about right for what they are proposing, but I would be asking them why they are proposing the dial change (which is the expensive part). It is likely because the watch has Tritium lume rather than SuperLuminova and that will be pretty much end of life by now, but you should be able to talk them out of the dial replacement if that is the case.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Thank you. I appreciate your help and I will wait for your information. Facing the recent currency devaluation of the BRL(Brazil Real) front the USD (US dollar) probably I became more poor than usual. :D

Sorry, I just was reading your message to my wife and realized I misunderstood you. I already had read "I will be asking them..." and don't as you wrote. So, I will ask them about the change of the dial as you advised me. Troubles with foreign languages... thanks again.
