Hi Everyone!

I have a new Transocean Day-Date which I use every other day. When I'm not wearing it, it is on a Brookestone watch winder set at 650 TPD. I also have a Blackbird (2009) which I also use and it is on the same watchwinder (room for 2 watches that can have each TPD setting set independantly).

Every 4 -5 days the watch stops...but the Blackbird keeps going no problem. I have to wind the watch about 40 turns and then it's OK----but for 4 -5 days. Does anyone else have an issue like this? Could there be a problem with the watch?

Both watches should have the same setting on the winder so likely not a problem there. If it is running for more than 42 hours on the winder then clearly the automatic winding is working so possibilities are either a problem in the movement that is causing it to stop or it isn't getting a full wind from wearing (odd if the Blackbird is, but possible).

Give the watch a full wind - 40 turns of the crown and see if it still behaves the same, that will rule out a low power reserve (remember that winders don't wind, they just maintain reserve) and if it is the same then we need to try some other things.

As Roff says, to test capacity. If that suggests it's fine is it possible that one of the motors on your winder is ok (the Blackbird's) but the other not - you could flip them to see if the variable is the winder rather than the watch.
