Hi,

The crystal on my transocean shattered, quite unexpectedly last week. I took it to the Breitling repair facility and they have quoted me over $1100 for the replacement. The watch is less than a year old. The repair person said the crystal was $1100 and they would do the work as part of the warranty.

This seems quite high...does anyone else agree?

thanks in advance.

If it was a warranty claim then they wouldn't be charging you. And that does sound awful high for just the crystal. They didn't mention that they needed to do anything else?

If the crystal has broken then the watch will need a full service because the movement will have been compromised. That cost can't just be for the crystal, it will include service, hands, maybe even dial if that has been damaged.

definatly , glass debris would have took the dial and hands and any chance of shards of glass in the movement would warrant full service, very strange for that to happen these things are tough, i have had a seawolf as a construction worker and that thing took a pounding, i know the glass on the avenger is thicker but still, what did you do , glad its getting sorted though, shame no pics :(
