Hi,

I wonder if someone could help me please.

I am new to watch collecting, but have recently bought a Breitling movement from a 18K gold superocean (Please see pictures attached).

The seller of the watch told me that sadly the watch case had been sold for scrap a few years ago  . I sent the watch movement to Breitling UK who authenticated it as being genuine.

What I would really like to know is a bit more information on the movement and what case it would fit into. Sadly I don't have the funds to buy an 18k gold case! but I would love to have it set in a less expensive case so I could actually use it. I understand from having a dig around on the internet, that it is a B10 movement which was only fitted to the gold superocean watches and not the same movement as the stainless steel versions?????

Any help and further info on the movement would be very welcome as I do not know a lot about watches, but I can appreciate the workmanship that has gone into this movement and hate to see it sitting in a case unused.

Thanks

In SuperOcean's that movement is an anomaly, but the movement was used in several other watches and will fit in any of those cases - http://www.breitlingsource.com/details/B10.html. May be just as tough trying to find the case / movement ring though....

Hi

Thanks for you help.

All I need now is a: Antares · Wings Automatic · J-Class Automatic · Antares Automatic LE · Sirius Automatic · Transocean: watch, minus a movement, in good condition, going cheap. Not a lot to ask eh!

At least now I know what to look for as I wasn't sure if the movement had been adapted by Breitling to fit the superocean.

Thanks again
