Hello,

I am wondering if it is possible to get a (light) scratch removed off of the glass of a Navitimer World.

If that is technical possible, would that be covered through a standard BUSA overhaul?

Thanks.

By the account of one other thread here, it would seem it’s a virtual guarantee you will be advised to have the scratches removed when you send it in for service/repair. But I don't think it woudl be part of a standard service cost. Cleaning yes, but as its a specialised service that would not affect every watch, I would suggest this item would be added to the bill as an addition.

Might need to check the BUSA list of overhaul items.

Breitling don't repair crystals, they simply replace them because it's more cost effective, and that will be an additional cost. If the scratch is only to the AR rather than the sapphire itself then you have the do it yourself option of removing all of the AR coating using something like cape cods, but obviously that reduces the anti reflectiveness of the crystal.

Thank you guys.

Any idea, as a rough ballpark estimate, what BUSA would charge for a replacement crystal (labor plus parts)?

Do it as part of a service and it will cost around $150 - $200

In addition to the cost of the service of course.
