Post subject:  Spilled Stuff On My Watch

Hi all- so yeah the other night I spilled beer on the Chronomat Evolution, I panicked this is not the first time I have spilled stuff on it, I spilled orange juice on it also, and believe me I cursed heavily! My only concern is, that nothing probably entered, however the top screw down crown sometimes gets loose, I dont know why, however now it doesen't. I am not sure if at that point the top chrono crown pusher was loose, if it was and this beer or OJ went on it, could this damage the watch? I guess the only way to check is against UTC or quartz? I mean sometimes it stops working because I may not have it on enough time during the day..and then I should look out for COSC.

Thanks,
nick

As long as you didn't push the button while it was wet, your watch will be OK. The pushers are water (or beer  ) resistant even when the pushers aren't screwed down. That part is just for prevention from getting pushed while wet.

Thanks Vanessa, wasnt sure if they were resistent when they were unscrewed, or if Beer or Orange Juice was corrosive to the stainless steel on the inner part of the crown..i dont know why it unscrews itself sometimes..

Orange juice might actually be corrosive to stainless steel, depending on the conditions... However, if you've rinsed it with water you should be just fine.

Why don't you stop trying to drown your watch and drink the stuff you've ordered? :D
