Yesterday evening I had a shower watch on and, after it, I guess I found some moisture inside on the crystal, but I wasn't sure, couldn't see well, so let the watch on the drawer. This morning I checked it better in sun light and saw it!!! ![]() So I tried to dry it with the hairdryer put on hot hair and crown opened and, after a couple of minutes, let it cool down, always crown opened, for one hour. Then i wore it but after some minutes the moisture appeared again on the crystal. Now I'm wearing it with the crown opened but it doesn't seem to get better. What can i do to dry it? |

Ouch. The best thing you could of course is to get it to a Breitling authorizes service centre as soon as possible and let them deal with it in the most effective way. I have heard of people puting the watch with the crown open in a container together with silica gell and even rice that readily absorb moisture. Not sure how effective that is though. |

my problem is that until saturday I can't go to a watchmaker, so, in the meanwhile, I wanted to dry it as much an fast as possible. Don't have any silica gel but rice can be a good remedy. What I wanted to understand is if warming or cooling can accelerate the drying process or are to avoid. Something like crown opened plus couple of minutes of hot hairdryer plus one hour of plastic bag with rice can work? |

put it in a bag of rice, not an hour, but at least overnight; keep it warm. |

I can't do that before this evening, is this going to be a problem for the movement or dial? Will the crystal remain stained? |

it has to be dealt with by a competent watchmaker asap; I would suggest to let the watch run down (assuming it is a modern, automatic Navitimer ?), put it in that bag of rice (maybe somebody has a better idea?) and go buy a cheap Swatch or whatever to wear for now, get it to an AD as quickly as you can; worrying about damage will not help you now ? Crystal should be ok and a minor issue, hope the dial will not stain, this would be expensive. |

Yes, it's the modern one. I thought about this: my fridge has the dehumidifier inside. Could it be a good idea leaving the watch inside for a night? Or cold is bad? |

Isn't there also a risk of impact to the lume? Keeping it warm and as dry as possible is the best option under the circumstances. |

If it's not going to get attention before the weekend then it may well be too late by then. SuperLuminova hates moisture and the movement could be water damaged by then too. It needs to be stored in a dry, warm environment - airing cupboard is a good idea if you have one, above a radiator, etc. Bag of rice is a good substitute for silica gel, but if the bag is plastic then don't seal the bag (hence why I say also keep it in a dry environment). |

ok, I'll try to bring it to a watchmaker this evening. Anyway the amount of moisture is minimal: it covers less then half of the glass. Thanks everybody for advices! |

Same thing is going on with my bentley. The moisture is only visible after I have worn the watch for a while. I put in in a bag of rice last night. Today it is about half gone. Seems to be working so far. |

Figured I would try this while I'm waiting for my watch guy to get back, should be tomorrow. Hope there is not to much damage. |
