The crown on my Breitling B-1 is stuck, it doesn't pull out anymore (to the so-called position 2) to set the time/date. Turning the crown for changing functions and pushing it for backlighting the digital displays still work fine.

I replaced the battery on my B-1 myself a few months ago. To save money, because battery changes are a notorious rip-off, but also because I enjoy repairing things. Piece of cake, after looking at this great forum and other places. Sure, I don't trust the water-proofing anymore (even though I applied some silicon gel to the gasket), but then again I didn't trust the original 50m "splash-proof" either. After changing the battery I was able to set the time as always by pulling out the crown. All well until the other day, when we moved to daylight savings and I wanted to adjust my watch. All of a sudden the crown didn't pull out anymore... :(

I looked all over the internet but I couldn't find anything on this issue. I re-opened the watch and examined the crown, but no solution there either. I found the little release button for the crown-stem, cleaned the stem and re-inserted it, but again no change.

Before throwing in the towel and bringing it into an official Breitling service point, I figured I'd ask the experts: Does anyone on this forum know what might be the issue? Or better still, how to resolve it?? Thank you very much for any help!

It's going to be a Breitling issue - likely the castle gear is not engaging properly with the running train to allow you to set the time. You do not want to start taking the keyless works apart to try and fix it because that is going to get real complex, real quick and will end up costing you more for Breitling to fix.

Well, I threw in the towel and brought in my watch to the official service center. We'll see what the damage is... Thanks for your help anyhow!
