Hi,

This is my first post, but I found you guys when looking for a solution to my B1 problem.
Basically my B1 has had water ingress, from clearing snow. Bit surprised at that, but happens I guess.
Now Breitling want £1916 for a repair. The main items listed were movement, flange, and face, but also hands, glass etc.
At this price, it isn't economical for me to repair the watch.

Is it possible to get a B1 movement, or do Breitling hold all the stock?
If so, I might look at an independent to service it, or I'll have to think of alternative uses.

Thanks in advance,
Andy.

It's essentially a modified ETA thermoline movement for the more modern B1 - the ETA E20.341. Earlier B1s (pre 2002) used the non thermo compensated version of the same movement (.331).

However, if you get hold of a generic movement then you are rendering the watch unserviceable by Breitling - they will refuse to touch it again unless you pay for them to replace with Breitling parts. The other parts aren't going to be easy to come by elsewhere and the lume will have been damaged by the water so over time that is going to not only be non functional it is going to look very bad as the moisture reacts with the superluminova.

Thanks Roffensian for the very speedy ( and slightly depressing) reply!

I just saw a B1 listed for sale on one of the forums for less than half of the cost you got quoted.
Even if you get and it needs to be serviced by Breitling right away you will still be streets ahead.
That's just my thoughts.
