Hi Guys! I am new to this forum, just bought a bretling superocean automatic. Was told by a friend of mine that even if the watch is automatic it can still be hand wind, is this true ? and how? Thansk |

Thansk Hi and welcome aboard. Yes, your automatic (or self-winding) watch can be wound by hand via the crown just as you would a manual wind watch. Your automatic watch will only keep going on it's own if you regularly wear it (or use a watch-winder). I could probably waffle on at considerable length about how they work, but there are some good articles out there on the net that can explain it far more elloquently and concisely than I probably would!
