I recently sent my newly acquired Crosswind in to BUSA for service and the condition report on the estimate mentioned crystal antiglare scratched. To my untrained yet fussy eye the crystal looked perfect - are they just covering their behinds? They also said the chimney was scratched - what is the chimney? I am unfamiliar with that term. I am guessing it is the elevated inside part of the bezel. One last question is when do they tap the credit card for the work? Upon completion or right away. Thank you.

Don't know what BUSA does with hte credit card, my experience in Canada has been at the end (but I work a block from the service centre so go in person).

I am assuming that the crystal replacement is optional, so they are simply making you aware of the problem - it should be up to you to determine if you want the crystal replaced, they only insist on it if the integrity of the watch is comprmised.

The chimney is actually part of the case, it's between the bezel and the crystal.

Many thanks. I never realized that was part of the case. They didn't recommend replacement of the crystal so I'm not going to worry about it.
