Is an AD the best bet for getting a spare set of pins for holding my Skyland to the various straps I have purchased(Ocean Racer, Black & Red)?

What price are they and what size do I need to ask for?

Thanks muchly

Andrew

Well, I realise that this post may be of limited use given the distance between you and your AD, but.......

An AD is likely to kust give you some springbars. Size is based on the lug width, so 22mm for the AS. There are varying quality ones out there, not sure what the best non AD option is - you could argue it doesn't matter on a piece that cheap, but I wouldn't want one breaking while I had the watch on my wrist!

I just realised - you may have meant the pins attaching the strap to the deployant - different pins, but same answer, although the size will be 20mm on the AS sized ORs

And if you don't have any luck with your AD, you can buy some.

www.watchtool.co.uk should have them.

There are indeed varying qualities of spring-bar. Being as I'm a total fanatic for OEM stuff, I insist that I get Breitling spring bars from my AD and not other aftermarket versions. The genuine Breitling strap bars are quite distinctive from other aftermarket versions I've seen as they have little grooves round the barrel close to each end. The quality is definitely higher than non-Breitling ones. As Roff said you don't want a failure while you're wearing your watch.

My AD just gives them to me if I ever need them, and besides even if they charge for them how much will they really cost....£1? £2? Either way it wouldn't break the bank.

Driver - you can easily buy "high-end" springbars at the watchshop online. Breitling don't produce their own springbars (as far as I know) but also use them.

And you're quite correct on the price estimation - normally they cost £15 for 10 pcs (and now I'm just waiting for someone in US/Canada to say that they get paid just to take them...).

Cheers for the info boys. Phoned AD today says he'll put a set in for the watch and a set for the new Ocean Racer!

Cheers

Andrew

As you said - if he only had been this helpful when you tried getting the watch itself...
