Hello,

I have noticed the luminous properties on the Crosswind I recently acquired seem to be gone. I assume it is because it was stored in it's box for over 10 years. I have left the box open for a few days hoping to "recharge" the luminous parts, but it doesn't seem to have helped. Will I need to replace the dial to get the luminous properties back. I am sending direct to Breitling USA after their "summer holiday' ends July 9th.

Thank you,

Given that your watch has SuperLuminova lume that's physically impossible. The lume doesn't age, and only loses luminosity if exposed to moisture, and that would be visually evident. There are many threads on lume and it effectively comes down to Breitling's lume not being that great, SL not being particularly bright after an initial charge, and the fact that you aren't looking at the watch in total darkness after your eyes have adjusted to it.

Take it out in the sunlight, go into the dark- a closet or bathroom, keep you eyes closed for eight seconds, then look. If you just have it sitting in the box with the box open, it won't pick up much UV light to charge it.

Thank you. I tried the LED flashlight method and it worked.
