Thx for any help/ tips mvh kjetil I can't say if that's a bad price for Norway (although it seems a lot to me as a UK dweller) as I assume they are including a full service in that price as well, but what I can say is that you really should only ever get Emergency's serviced by Breitling. The reason for this is because the emergency beacon model is actually serviced by Dassault in France, so obviously the watch needs to be shipped there, in addition to any additional servicing on the rest of the watch that will be done by Breitling. 2400 Euro sounds steep to me, but I understand that Norway is pretty expensive, plus I don't know if you have a regional service centre or not - all of which can add to the cost. If you DO have a regional service centre (info available on the Breitling website) if I was you I'd give them a call direct as they'll be able to tell you a price without the AD being a middle-man. |

2,400 Euros is a lot more than just a service, even if the country is expensive. They must feel that a lot more work needs doing so they should be able to provide a breakdown of the work. |

Hi That sound exspensive for a battery change, But like the other post says that It has be done by breitling I got told by a breitling watchmaker their is only a few people at the service center that are qualifyed to do this because of the becon in it and it has to be done with spechalist equipment, But that is very exspensive but I thank after you have paid that you get a warranty on the watch. ![]() ![]() |

it would be far cheaper to send it to BUSA for a full service at about $500 US...indeed, it would probably be cheaper to fly to NY, spend the weekend drinking and eating and mail it to BUSA while you were here, and then fly home and wait for them to mail it to you...! |

Of course the flaw in that logic is that the Emergency has to be serviced in Switzerland because of the transmitter so all BUSA would do is ship it back to Europe. |

I will check out BUSA and what that is, thanks.. I was told that it will be serviced in Norway ( stavanger) where they have a new senter for breitling repair. I use the same dealer in Drammen i used 3 years ago when the price was ca 500 euro AND sendt to France, and thats why i dont understand why the price 5 times more expencive than 3 years ago.. If anyone have a cheaper place to do it i will be thankful.. thx for the answers kjetil |

Emergency and Emergency Mission are different from other Breitlings. They get sent to Switzerland for servicing because the only company authorised to work on the transmitter is Dassault in France. It's one of the reasons why the first service is free. |

Roff, beg to differ on that front but BUSA's tech director in Wilton told me that BUSA can service the civilian frequency E's in house but the military frequency versions have to go back to Switzerland...when I sent my military E in for a full service two years ago, BUSA said that they could convert it to civilain and service it, or send it to Switzerland. BUsa eventually opted to keep it military and sent it off. It came back about five months later looking, of course, as new... |

I guess things are changing then, the E and EM were always restricted by the 'Dassault only' transmitter servicing. |

After a mail to the service senter in sweden they called me and told me the reason for the price. I have a 2001 mod and they told that the electric modul on my watch was broken and that the E came with a new modul from the -02 modell. They dont make The elmodul for the 01- modell and older anymore so therefore they have to put in a new superquarts and thats why its so expencive.. |

That makes sense - changing it from a 56 movement to a 76 movement so you will have effectively a brand new watch. |
