Hello all -

I just received my first Breitling watch, a Colt II Quartz, as a graduation present. I have some pretty basic questions since I have never owned a Breitling watch before.

What would be the proper way to clean the watch? Will a fine cloth used to clean sunglasses do?
Is it okay to wear the watch in the shower/swimming, or should I take it off even though it is water resistant?
How long does the battery tend to last?
Finally how easy is it to switch back and forth between the rubber watch band and the professional band, and how is it done?
Anything else I should know as a first time owner of a Breitling?

For cleaning, take a look at this thread: http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3772 Your watch is water resistant to 500m (1650ft) so you can certainly shower, swim etc with your watch, though there will be more cleaning to do on it if you do

The battery on your superquartz should last 6 to 8 years so you won't have to worry about it anytime soon.

In2Deep pretty much covered it. To add to it though, its best to rinse it with fresh water after swimming in the pool or ocean, to remove chemicals or deposits that may degrade the rubber seals over time.

Changing straps is pretty easy with the correct tool. You basically need a springbar tool to do it without much risk of damaging the watch. You just push the springbar down and pull it off. I dont personally use one, but its just because im too cheap to buy one. Eventually I will....

And yes, a sunglasses cloth will work. Any soft cloth will work, for that matter. Regular cleanings are as easy as a bit of dish soap and a soft toothbrush if you want to get between the crevices. Just rinse it well and youll be good to go.

In2Deep: No, I don't think so. My 6767-F doesn't have that angle-bent fork, just a straight fork (which also works excellent).
